COMPOSITION: Each tablet contains 200 mg and 400 mg Ofloxacin. Excipients c.s.p. Ofloxacin is aquinolone with broad-spectrum bactericidal action.
INDICATIONS: UROSTAT® is indicated for the treatment of adults with infections caused by susceptible strains. It has been used in the treatment of a wide range of infections: acute gonorrhea, uncomplicated urethral and cervical cancer. Non-gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis. Mixed infections of the urethra and cervix due to Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseriagonorrhoeae. Acute pelvic inflammatory disease. Uncomplicated cystitis and complex urinary tract infections. Prostatitis: other infections: Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia, uncomplicated infections of the skin and its annexes.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Ofloxacin is administered orally. The usual adult dose is 200 to 400 mg every 12 hours in patients with normal renal function.
SIDE EFFECTS: The most frequently reported adverse effects related to the drug are nausea, insomnia, headache, dizziness, diarrhea, vomiting, rash, pruritus, external genital pruritus in women, vaginitis, dysgeusia.
PRECAUTIONS: In patients with epilepsy or history of CNS diseases. In patients with impaired liver or kidney functions. Avoid drinking alcohol. You can interact with oral hypoglycemic agents or insulin, antacids, iron preparations, opioids, theophylline and warfarin. Pregnancy: Category C.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Not recommended for children and adolescents, pregnant women and nursing mothers.
