COMPOSITION: Each tablet contains ketoconazole + Secnidazole 250 mg, excipients qs 1 tablet.
INDICATIONS: MICOSIN® PLUS is indicated for the treatment of vulvovaginal and urethral infections produced by single or mixed Tricomonasvaginalis. Candidaalbicans and Gardnerellavaginalis.
DOSE: Trichomonasvaginalis urethritis and vaginitis: Bacterial vaginosis: (Gardnerellavaginalis vaginitis) and vulvovaginal candidiasis balanitis Candidaalbicans; Adults: 1 tablet of PLUSMICOSIN® PLUS twice daily preferably with meals for 5 days. Should be treated simultaneously with the sexual partner. During treatment the male partner should use condoms.
ADMINISTRATION: MICOSIN® PLUS should be administered orally with enough water, along with breakfast and dinner to promote absorption of active ingredients.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: PLUSMICOSIN® PLUS is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to nitro imidazole derivatives or other Secnidazole and ketoconazole. It is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation. Administration of MICOSIN R PLUS is contraindicated with the following medications: alfentanil, astemizole, terfenadine, midazolam and triazolam, cisapride, cyclosporine, paclitaxel, pimozide, quinidine, sertindole, sildenafil, lovastatin and simvanstine.
PRECAUTIONS: MICOSIN® PLUS should be used with caution in patients with blood dyscrasias (leukopenia may occur) or with active disease of the central nervous system (including epilepsy) and in patients with preexisting liver disease.
INTERACTIONS: See Contraindications: With alcohol can cause a disulfiram-like reaction, so you should avoid alcohol (including medicines that contain alcohol) during treatment and for a few days after completion. Increases the anticoagulant effect of warfarin.
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION: It is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
SIDE EFFECTS: They are rarely severe enough to discontinue treatment. The most common are gastrointestinal distress such as nausea, sometimes together with headache, anorexia, dyspepsia, nausea and vomiting, unpleasant metallic taste. Occasional diarrhea, dry mouth, coated tongue, glossitis, stomatitis. Peripheral neuropathy (numbness or hypoesthesia in limbs), and seizures, transient increase of liver enzymes have rarely been reported.
